Completed in December 2017, Bloom was engaged by Flack Studio to transform a renovated double fronted original brick Victorian into a piece of abstract artwork. The client did not hold the designer, David Flack back and let him have full freedom in terms of colours and finishes. The polished plaster walls, steel windows, and intricate joinery made for a challenging build. We worked closely with steel fabricators and joiners to craft the steel pivot mirrors in the master ensuite, and the steel clad floor to ceiling pantry door and rangehood. The hard finishes included, terrazzo floors, brass, blackened steel, handmade porcelain tiles, and several different natural stones. One of the highlights was the solid hand carved walnut to the kitchen island benchtop. There wasn’t a surface inside the house that we didn’t touch.
